Our Place is a non-sectarian, licensed, adult day center located at the intersection of routes 72 and 444 in Loudon, TN.  Our Place is a 501 (c) (3) and is in the process of seeking licensure from the state of Tennessee.

 

Its mission and purpose is to operate a social model* of adult day care for seniors with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s/dementia that will provide socialization, enrichment, and structure allowing free time/respite for their caregivers.  Our Place will do this by providing a program of activities that include music, gentle exercise, crafts, games, discussions about movies or current events, nutritious snacks, and more.  Wherever possible, activities will be theme-based, highlighting the seasons, holidays, birthdays, and other special events.

Program Manager

We are seeking a Program Manager for Our PLACE, a new non-profit Adult Day Center located in Loudon, TN at the intersection of routes 72 and 444.  Our PLACE will provide socialization and structured activities (such as music and pet therapy, exercise, crafts, and games) to seniors with Alzheimer’s / dementia and provide respite to their caregivers.  As a result, we are looking for a person to assume the lead role in developing, scheduling, implementing, maintaining, and evaluating the ongoing program of creative enrichment activities for program participants.  Program Assistants and volunteer staff will assist in the daily implementation of these activities.  Additionally, the manager develops, implements, and evaluates client service plans in conjunction with the Executive Director. 

Bachelor’s degree with major course work in social work, sociology, psychology, child and family studies, human services, gerontology, occupational or recreational therapy is preferred.  Appropriate experience may substitute for a college degree.  Minimum of two years experience working with older adults, and/or people with disabilities is preferred.  Nursing or medical background is a plus.  Compassion, a genuine interest in and respect for people, especially the elderly with functioning impairments, creativity, and service orientation are important.  For a full job description Click Here
