The Tellico Community Foundation, an affiliate fund of East Tennessee Foundation, set a goal to aid in Our PLACE’s success and to fulfill the Foundation’s commitment to support seniors in need in Loudon and Monroe counties. To that end, the Foundation will grant up to one acre of land to be used as a building site for Our PLACE, provided that it meets specified philanthropic milestones and obtains its license to operate as an adult day center within 36 months. The Foundation’s commitment has been made in the hope that Our PLACE’s current and future donors will be motivated by this extraordinary opportunity.
Obtaining further local support has been a priority. Envisioned as a community-wide initiative, the board of directors of Our PLACE includes representatives who serve as liaisons to the following churches and organizations:

The Day Center will be staffed by two permanent employees — Center Director and Program Director — and a team of trained and supervised volunteers. All staff members receive initial and ongoing training as required by the State.
