Lions Launch New Effort
The Tellico Village Lions Club has designated $10,000 of its funds for a matching gift campaign to benefit Our PLACE, a day center for people with Alzheimer’s and dementia, that will be located between Highway 444 and Food Lion.
Anyone can join the Lions in supporting Our PLACE and have their donation doubled by the club. Contributions of $25, $50, $100 or more will be matched. One planned feature of the Our PLACE location is a Legacy Park where donors, organizations and individuals will be honored for contributions.
Any donation of $225 or more to the Lions’ matching fund will be recognized with a commemorative brick, engraved with the donor’s name or wording of their choice and a logo.
The club in August conducted an internal matching fund program within its membership, wherein all donations received from members of the club for Our PLACE were matched by the club. Members contributed $8,000. Instead of having to use club funds, an anonymous donor matched the $8,000. Recognizing the success of the effort, the club decided to expand the matching fund drive to the community.
To make a donation, mail a check, payable to Our PLACE, to Tellico Village Lions Club, P.O. Box 872, Loudon, TN 37774. A donation form must also be completed.
For more information on the form, contact club publicity chairman Richard Kolasheski at 865-458-3482. Information on Our PLACE can be found at www.ourplacetn.org.
