Our PLACE Volunteers

The mission of Our PLACE, an adult day center for seniors with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s or dementia, is to improve quality of life by providing a day program of care, social interaction, and therapeutic activities in a safe and nurturing environment. Much of what Our PLACE does is fueled by volunteers – If you would you like to be part of the Our PLACE team and share your time and talents in creating Moments of Joy for our participants and their families, please fill out this form and someone will be in contact with you soon.

• Regular/Daily Volunteers - Regular volunteers provide supportive assistance on a regular basis to the participants with all activities, always ensuring safety; and provide companionship and active listening.  

• Special Volunteers - These volunteers perform assigned activities to support safe and effective therapeutic, social and entertaining services provided at Our PLACE.  This work will include interaction with clients and will be focused on interests, talents, hobbies and pets that the volunteer can share as an activity for the participants.  

• Program Support Volunteers - Program support will perform assigned activities to support safe and effective services provided at Our PLACE.  This work may occasionally include interaction with clients but will generally be focused on activities supporting the program, e.g. admin, information technology, graphics design, building maintenance and landscaping, outside events, and fundraising.
